Small Group
Small groups are the heartbeat of the ministry. They occur in safe spaces where support and accountability become crucial to building relationships. A small group outline, Love Card, is available for facilitators, inviting participants to be authentic about their victories and struggles. Small groups take place throughout Michigan. FAQs about Fresh Expressions Worship
Attending a Fresh Expression Worship Event is an excellent way to introduce people to Freedom Dreamers. However, as with Small Groups or Off-Paper Parties, a parolee must have written permission from their parole officer to attend.
Fresh Expressions Worship
Each event is an interactive response to the Gospel focusing on the perspectives of returning citizens, with a meal, music, prayer, and often a testimony from a returning citizen. Carpooling is commonplace from our three main hubs, Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, and the Tri-City Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland areas. These events are on the second Sunday of the month. If you know someone getting off Parole (including yourself) who could benefit from becoming a Guest of Honor at an Off-Paper Party, please complete this form.
Yes, It is not uncommon, for example, to have a parolee tell a humorous story about a guest of honor they are friends with. However, as with Small Groups or Fresh Expressions Worship events, a parolee must have written permission from their parole officer to attend.
Off-Paper Parties
Off-Paper Parties are held twice a year on the Second Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm to celebrate people getting Off Parole. Each Off-Paper Party includes a meal, a time of Worship, and the celebration of various stories told by guests of honor getting off Parole and their friends.
